The right gear for drinking water
Pumps to clear sludge, scrubbing to remove biofilm, and disinfectant meant for potable storage.

Al Rimal is a very new district in far south Jeddah between the sea and heavy goods roads, with building still ongoing and streets not yet complete. Most tanks are new but oily dust from trucks and building sites enters quickly, and high coastal humidity speeds algae growth even in a brand new tank.
Water in a new tank here turns a pale yellow-green very fast from sea algae and moisture, and oily dust leaves a slick film on the water surface. For the method itself, see how we approach water tank cleaning.
Al Rimal sits between the sea and heavy traffic, and oily diesel dust and salt from the sea cling to the tank surface. The tank is new but dust enters through gaps and openings fast, and the water loses its clarity within days.
Sitting close to the sea, high humidity and heat help green algae grow fast even in a brand new tank. Black mould appears quickly on walls and lids from salt and moisture combined.
Building sites around the district and unpaved streets carry sand and dust into the water. Building is still active so contaminants arrive from every direction continuously.
A very new district in south Jeddah near the sea and major roads, a subdivision still in its early phases with ongoing building work and sandy ground between scattered homes.
Inspection of the new tank starts outside: we check the lid seals tight, has no large gaps, and pipes are safely connected so salt and sand from coastal moisture cannot enter.
Draining removes water containing green algae from moisture and salt, and pumping is relatively quick because the tank is new.
Sediment removal from the floor vacuums dead algae, sand and oily dust that has settled despite the tank being brand new.
Scrubbing removes green algae and black mould spots that grow fast from humidity, heat and salt from the nearby sea.
Disinfection kills algae, mould and bacteria from the damp coastal environment, and remains safe for drinking and use.
Final rinse and lid check ensure water is clear, and the seal is tight so no new salt or moisture from the coast can enter.
The supply into the tank is shut and the tank is drained completely.
The sludge on the floor is scooped and pumped out first.
The biofilm on the walls is physically scrubbed off.
With the walls and floor clean, a disinfectant made for drinking-water storage is applied and given time to act on every surface.
The disinfectant and any loosened residue are rinsed down and pumped out, so the first tank of water after us is not carrying it.
We check the cover seal and inlet before refilling, so dust and insects stay out, then start the refill while you watch it run clear.
New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes
Al Rimal is a new development between the sea and heavy goods routes, and tanks are new but the environment pollutes them quickly. Coastal humidity and algae grow very fast, and oily truck dust enters from every direction.

We send a team, not one person, so a tank is drained, cleaned, disinfected and refilled in a single visit rather than left open for days.
We look at the lid seal and inlet, because a tank that got dirty fast usually has a way in.
Nothing is closed until the tank is refilling and you have seen the water run clean.
Photographs from real jobs carried out by the crew.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the tank is disinfected, refilling, and you have seen it for yourself.
South Jeddah runs from the port and the industrial city down towards Al Khumrah, and homes here sit between the sea and the heavy goods roads. The dust is darker and oilier than in the north, a mix of diesel soot and workshop grit, and it clings to net curtains, window sills and the tops of kitchen cupboards. Floors in the older low rise housing are often plain cement or ceramic tile that darkens where soot is walked in. Humidity from the coast adds mildew in bathrooms and a musty smell in stored fabrics.
We provide these in Al Rimal too, and more than one can share a single visit.
