The gear reaches the scale
Proper descalers, matched to each surface, are what move mineral off glass and out of grout.

Al Balad is historic Jeddah, UNESCO-listed coral stone houses with wooden latticework set amid busy souqs. Bathrooms here sit in buildings hundreds of years old with original aged piping. Mineral deposits are thick and rust blocks openings. Stone and old terrazzo are extremely delicate and vigorous scrubbing damages them permanently. Every bathroom here is unique because every house is a unique heritage structure.
Bathrooms here are in very old houses with original ancient pipes and the water carries dense sediment and rust, and floors are stone or extremely old terrazzo. For the method itself, see the full bathroom cleaning page.
Original old pipework and hard water leave thick mineral crust on taps and drains. Deposits have accumulated for decades and block openings. Removing scale requires very long soaking and extreme care.
Floors are faded ancient stone or terrazzo from many decades past. Stone is brittle and terrazzo scratches easily. Hard scrubbing damages the surface. Cleaning here is an art form, not a task.
Original iron plumbing has corroded from inside over many years. Rust blocks drain openings and leaves orange staining. The pipes themselves may need inspection, not just cleaning.
Historic central Jeddah with original coral limestone buildings and wooden rawashin latticework, where the oldest plumbing systems and original roof tanks carry accumulated deposits from many decades of use.
Very old stone and terrazzo are extremely delicate, so we test any cleaning product on a hidden spot first.
Heavy mineral deposits need very long soaking, not scrubbing, and scrubbing causes permanent damage to ancient surfaces.
Grout lines may be very old and fragile, so we clean them with extreme gentleness and soft brushes.
Vintage glass and old mirrors may be thin and delicate, so we clean them very carefully.
Old basins and baths may be made from rare or original materials, so we clean them with extreme caution.
Drainage in heritage homes may be very old, so we ensure water flows freely without causing damage to the ancient piping.
We open the room, take everything off the ledges and shelves, and lift loose hair from the drains before any water or chemical goes down.
Scale on glass, taps and the shower head is not scrubbed off cold.
The joints are treated and scrubbed along the line, top to bottom, because film sits in the porous grout and a flat wipe never enters it.
The bowl, the base joint and the floor trap are done as one stage, since this is where odour lives.
What the products loosened is lifted off, and everything is rinsed downward so nothing dirty settles back onto a cleaned surface.
The damp low corners are dried so nothing feeds mould again, then we walk the room with you.
Proper descalers, matched to each surface, are what move mineral off glass and out of grout.
We send a team, not a single person.
Where scale has already etched the glass or mould has stained the grout for good, we tell you at the inspection.
Nothing is called done until you have walked the room and said so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
Bathrooms in heritage homes of Al Balad lie between Nassif House and Al Shafi'i Mosque amid the souqs and popular markets, requiring exceptional care because the buildings themselves are registered as world heritage and deserve protection.
We provide these in Al Balad too, and more than one can share a single visit.
