We test before we clean
Testing the solution on a hidden fold is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Mawaddah is a small simple residential district in east Jeddah, far from the city centre and the coast. The air here is much drier and the dust is coarser and paler in colour. Curtains absorb this dry sharp dust, leaving grey rather than black marks. Washing focuses on removing the fine grit embedded in the weave rather than grease or salts.
Dust in Al Mawaddah is fine and light coloured, settling on curtains as a pale grey layer rather than blackening them. This makes accumulation look lighter, but the fine grit scratches fabric if rubbed too hard. For the method itself, see our guide to curtain cleaning.
East Jeddah air is very dry and dust is extremely fine stone particles. These settle into the weave and cannot be rubbed away. Rubbing scratches the fabric. Gentle shaking and strong suction extract the grit without damaging the material.
Roof tanks in Al Mawaddah leave sand and small gravel in the water supply. This sediment leaves a grey film on sinks and shower areas. Curtains near bathrooms absorb moisture mixed with fine grit and look heavy and unclean.
Air is dry in daytime but night brings moisture from sky and ground. Curtains absorb this overnight damp and dry during the day, making them grow heavy and hold dust permanently. Washing requires complete drying so no moisture lingers in the folds.
A small modest residential quarter in the east near Wadi Al Ghawla, mostly popular housing with narrow streets. Far from the sea and close to open ground, so the air is drier and dust less oily.
Fabrics in Al Mawaddah are usually old and delicate, hung on simple wire and basic metal fittings. Removal needs care so aged wires do not break or snap.
Taking down curtains from simple wire fittings is straightforward but care is needed because wires may be thin and brittle after years of use.
Gentle shaking and strong suction extract fine grit without scratching delicate fabric.
Grit and grey sediment need washing with fresh water and repeated rinsing to remove every stone particle from the weave.
Washing uses cool water and gentle movement to preserve old delicate fabrics, even if removing all the deposits takes longer.
Drying must be quick in the dry air to avoid overnight moisture settling back into the curtains again.
Cotton, linen, velvet, blackout weave and synthetic sheers do not take the same heat or the same solution.
Before any water.
A water spot at the hem is not treated like a greasy film near a kitchen.
We loosen what has bonded inside the fibres across the full panel, both faces and top to hem, with the method that suits the fabric, while the curtains stay on the rail so the drape is not disturbed.
The loosened dirt and water are pulled back out in the same pass.
We go over the panels with you before the team leaves.
Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them
Dry air and sharp grit mean fine particles are the main problem, not fats or salt. Gentle shaking and repeated rinsing matter more than hard scrubbing, and quick drying in the dry climate is essential.

We send a team, not a single worker.
The cleaning and extraction machines come with the team.
If a panel needs a tailor rather than a clean, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
East Jeddah lies furthest from the sea and closest to the open ground and hills beyond the ring roads, so the air is drier and the dust is coarser and paler than on the coast. It comes in under doors and settles on every flat surface overnight, making sofas, mattresses and curtains the heaviest part of the routine. Floors are mostly ceramic tile in the apartment districts and marble in the villa areas, both scratched by grit that is mopped rather than swept. Roof tank water leaves a grey film of sediment in baths and basins.
We provide these in Al Mawaddah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
