The access to reach it safely
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.

Al Sarawat is an industrial zone in south Jeddah near Al Khumrah, filled with large warehouses, workshops and loading yards, with scattered homes among the commercial plots. Daily industrial activity releases oils, fumes and fine metal particles into the air that settle on every surface, including chandeliers. The soiling load here is far heavier than in purely residential areas, and cleaning cycles must be shorter and more robust.
Chandeliers in homes near active workshops accumulate oils, grease and industrial particles far faster than those in quiet residential zones, and the grit scratches more easily. For the method itself, see our guide to chandelier cleaning.
Workshops, warehouses and heavy plant surrounding the homes release smoke, oils and fine metal particles into the air. These settle on the chandelier in thick, sticky layers much faster than ordinary dust. The mixture of oil and metal particles requires vigorous but safe washing, with firm brushing and hot water to dissolve the build up properly.
Homes in Al Sarawat are relatively old, built to Civil Defence standards, with medium height ceilings. The plots are large and houses are scattered well apart from each other, making access and work easier, but the open air around them means more airborne industrial debris reaches the indoors regularly.
The homes in Al Sarawat were constructed quickly on basic standards, and electrical wiring may be old or poorly organized. Before removing any chandelier, initial inspection of wiring and mounting is essential. Some homes are very aged and wiring is held in place unsafely or has deteriorated.
An industrial district with large warehouses, workshops, loading yards and residential properties spread across wide commercial plots, close to Al Laith Road and the southern corniche, with daily heavy vehicle and equipment activity.
Chandeliers in industrial zones may be simple or ornate, but industrial soiling demands higher cleaning standards. We inspect the type and materials first before choosing the appropriate washing method.
Electrical systems in homes near industrial areas may be old or undocumented. We cut power at the main board first, then use specialized testing equipment to confirm safety before dismantling.
The chandelier is photographed in detail before any removal, especially wiring, mounting and arrangement, as older homes may have non standard fixture configurations.
Washing in industrial areas requires hot water and firm brushes to remove deep oils and grease. Crystals and metalwork are separated so each material receives appropriate care.
Frame and arms are cleaned with solid brushing to lift industrial oils and grime, taking care not to damage any old finish if present.
Reassembly follows the original arrangement exactly, power is restored, and the chandelier is lit to verify everything works safely.
The circuit is switched off before anything is touched, and warm bulbs are given time to cool.
We check how it is built, which crystals are loose, and how it comes apart before removing a thing.
The area under the fixture is covered before we start, so a dropped crystal lands soft and nothing marks the floor or table below.
Where the piece allows, crystals come off and are washed and dried individually.
With the crystals off or aside, the frame, arms, bulb holders and ceiling mount are wiped down, since that is where film and webs hide behind the glass.
Every crystal goes back to its place, the fixture is switched on and checked, and we walk the room with you.
Al Sarawat sits about 3.5 km from Al Khumrah and about 4.5 km from Al Sarawriyah.

We send a team, not one person, so crystals come off, get washed and go back in one visit, without a lone worker hurrying a fragile piece to finish before dark.
Whether crystals come off or are cleaned in place depends on how the fixture is built.
Nothing is done until the fixture is back together, switched on, and you have seen it throw its light.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the fixture is reassembled, lit, and you have seen it for yourself.
Industrial area: workshops, warehouses and loading yards
In an industrial area, the chandelier faces a different type of pollution: oils, grease and metal particles, not ordinary dust. This means deeper cleaning, more frequent cycles, and different protective measures than residential zones.
We provide these in Al Sarawat too, and more than one can share a single visit.
