We test before we clean
Testing the material on a hidden spot is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Qawzain is a small coastal strip in south Jeddah on the southern corniche by Al Seef Beach, with high humidity and salt from sea air year round. Carpet bears white mineral stains where salt has deposited in the fibres, and fitted carpet traps moisture and mildew from the salt laden air. Old ceramic flooring requires careful handling of both water and salt during cleaning.
Salt and moisture together leave marks on every surface, and carpet carries layers of accumulated salt deposits and mildew smells from the continuous salty sea breeze. For the method itself, see how we approach carpet and rug cleaning.
Salty sea air continuously carries salt particles that settle on carpet and every surface. Salt deposits in the fibres creating white marks and mineral stains that harm colour and texture. Plain water may worsen the problem, so washing requires a salt dissolving treatment applied before any hot water.
Very high humidity throughout the year causes mildew growth and odour in both carpet and fitted passages. Rapid post extraction drying and continuous ventilation are essential, and odour treatment may be needed as a separate step.
Al Qawzain sits on the southern corniche right beside Al Seef Beach, the southernmost coastal point of Jeddah. Salt content and humidity are higher here than in any other district of the city.
The area sits directly on the sea with perpetually salty air and very high humidity, and the water used for drinking and rinsing leaves salt deposits everywhere.
Sorting by fibre type because salt affects each fibre type differently, with wool being more sensitive than acrylic to salt damage.
Deep dry vacuuming must be strong but gentle to avoid damaging pile that may be weakened by salt deposits.
Salt and mildew are treated separately before hot water with specific salt dissolving and odour elimination agents.
Wool carpet needs only moderate heat and must never be over saturated since salt weakens the fibre.
Fitted carpet needs very strong wet extraction and rapid drying because moisture enters the base quickly in high humidity.
Drying requires continuous night ventilation and may need open windows and doors to pull moisture from the carpet base.
Wool, synthetic and silk-blends do not take the same heat or the same material.
Before any water.
An oil stain is not treated like a juice stain.
Hot water loosens what is bound in the pile and the extractor pulls it straight back out with the water, together, so nothing is left sitting in the base.
The borders and fringe are done by hand, where machines skip and where wear shows first, so the whole rug looks even.
The carpet is left slightly damp, not wet.
Testing the material on a hidden spot is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.
The company runs a large workforce, and we send a team rather than one worker.
The deep vacuum and extraction machines are ours and arrive with the team.
If a rug needs repair or re-fringing rather than cleaning, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think.
South Jeddah runs from the port and the industrial city down towards Al Khumrah, and homes here sit between the sea and the heavy goods roads. The dust is darker and oilier than in the north, a mix of diesel soot and workshop grit, and it clings to net curtains, window sills and the tops of kitchen cupboards. Floors in the older low rise housing are often plain cement or ceramic tile that darkens where soot is walked in. Humidity from the coast adds mildew in bathrooms and a musty smell in stored fabrics.
We provide these in Al Qawzain too, and more than one can share a single visit.
