We test before we degrease
Testing the solution on a hidden spot is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Yaman is one of four historic quarters within the old city walls, with buildings set very close together on narrow lanes and aging shared plumbing that runs through multiple homes. Kitchens in these heritage stone and timber houses get dirty fast because air does not move through tight lanes, and cooking grease settles in corners and cracks instead of dispersing. Removing it demands care for the old fabric so no stone is scratched and no timber is harmed.
The air in the lanes does not move much because they are so narrow. Cooking grease lingers in corners and cracks rather than clearing. The smell lingers for a long time. For the method itself, see our kitchen cleaning service in detail.
Stone in heritage kitchens is thin and fragile. Hard scrubbing scratches it. Old timber is damp from age. It cannot tolerate a strong degreaser. We test the product on a small hidden area first, then clean gently because the old structure cannot handle rough pressure or aggressive scrubbing.
Cracks and gaps in old stone and timber hold grease deep inside where surface wiping cannot reach. We use a degreaser that soaks into the cracks, then work gently with a soft brush so we do not widen the cracks or damage the wall structure.
The lane is so narrow that fresh air does not enter the kitchen easily. Grease pools in distant warm corners where the air does not reach. Removing it takes longer because the degreaser needs higher concentration to work in still air. We focus on corners and heat-prone areas where grease builds thickest.
A dense historic district south of Al Alawi Street within the old city walls, with close-set buildings of ancient stone and heritage plasterwork, and very narrow lanes between the homes.
Grease on old timber cabinet fronts sinks into the wood and affects the finish. Removal needs a weak degreaser and a very soft brush to avoid scratching or stripping away the historic paint layer.
The extractor hood and filter in heritage homes are very old and may lack power. We disassemble the filter carefully and work gently. If components are fragile we advise you on a replacement hood.
The oven and hob sit on very old stone. Heat and grease affect the stone structure. We clean with weak degreaser and wait for it to work. Hard scrubbing can crack the stone around the hob.
Stone tile behind the hob is ancient and the gaps between tiles are very deep. Grease enters the gaps deeply. We use weak degreaser that activates first, then work very carefully in the gaps with a soft brush.
The sink and old brass or iron tap are extremely fragile. Any scratch removes the finish. We scrub very gently and never use a harsh brush. White scale we dissolve with weak acid.
The stone or terrazzo floor is very old. Hard scrubbing scratches it. We clean with weak degreaser and wait, then scrub gently. Corners we work with extreme care.
Painted cabinets, laminate, natural stone and stainless steel do not take the same degreaser.
We start high, the tops of cabinets and the hood, and work down to the floor.
The degreaser is put on the heavy areas and given time to break the oil down before it is wiped.
The metal filter carries the worst of the grease and is soaked and worked on its own, not just wiped in place, because a clogged filter puts the oil straight back into the air.
The burners, the tiled splash and the grout lines take focused work, since the grout darkens first and a flat wipe passes over it.
We go over the kitchen with you before the team leaves.
Al Yaman sits about 0.5 km from Al Sahifah and about 0.5 km from Historic Jeddah.

We send a team, not a single worker.
The degreasers and tools come with the team.
If what the kitchen needs is a repair or pest treatment rather than a clean, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
In Al Yaman between Hassan Annani Mosque and the narrow lanes leading toward Souk Al Alawi, heritage kitchens are reachable only through very tight passages. The lanes are so narrow and buildings so close that the work demands care with every ancient stone and timber surface at every step.
We provide these in Al Yaman too, and more than one can share a single visit.
