We test before we clean
Testing the solution on a hidden fold is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Wadiyah is a new district in northeast Jeddah with vacant land and ongoing building work between new homes. Curtains here, even brand new ones, fill with fine construction sand within a single month. This fine dust enters every flat from windows and doors. Early regular cleaning protects curtains from being worn out before they should be.
New curtains in recently built neighbourhoods soil at an alarming speed: extremely fine sand from digging enters the flat and settles on everything. After one month, brand new curtains look years old and blackened. For the method itself, see the full curtain cleaning page.
Excavation and building work raises clouds of extremely fine sand that gets in under doors and through window seals. Sand settles directly on curtains, and in a construction zone this happens daily. A new flat with new curtains becomes visibly soiled in shockingly quick time.
Vacant plots around the new district carry large amounts of loose sand on the wind. Airborne sand enters flats and deposits on curtains. The gaps between construction phases increase the airborne load because no ongoing building binds dust down.
New curtains may arrive with factory-applied protective treatments. Harsh washing can remove these coatings. Balance is needed between removing construction sand and preserving the original protective finish.
A newly developing district near Wadi Obhur and Sharm Obhur, with main roads and vacant plots between new buildings. Construction is ongoing and excavation dust hangs in the air.
New curtains in building zones are delicate and may carry factory protective treatments. Removal must be careful not to damage these coatings.
Taking down brand new curtains from modern fittings is straightforward but care is needed so new fittings do not bend or snap.
Shaking and suction extract construction sand from the surface before any water is used, and fine sand needs strong suction.
Sand and dust stains need no special treatment, ordinary fresh water washing removes them, with care to avoid strong solutions.
Washing uses cool water and gentle action to preserve new protective finishes, and repeated rinsing removes all sand from the weave.
Drying is gentle, and new curtains dry quickly because they are clean and carry no deep-set moisture.
Cotton, linen, velvet, blackout weave and synthetic sheers do not take the same heat or the same solution.
Before any water.
A water spot at the hem is not treated like a greasy film near a kitchen.
We loosen what has bonded inside the fibres across the full panel, both faces and top to hem, with the method that suits the fabric, while the curtains stay on the rail so the drape is not disturbed.
The loosened dirt and water are pulled back out in the same pass.
We go over the panels with you before the team leaves.

We send a team, not a single worker.
The cleaning and extraction machines come with the team.
If a panel needs a tailor rather than a clean, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes
New district and ongoing construction mean fine sand is the main problem, not soot or salt. Early cleaning and mild solutions work better than harsh ones, and repeated rinsing matters more than scrubbing.
We provide these in Al Wadiyah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
