We test before we clean
Testing the solution on a hidden fold is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Ammariyah is an old apartment district at the heart of Jeddah around Eve Cemetery, with a tight web of narrow streets between Bab Makkah and Old Makkah Road. Buildings stand shoulder to shoulder. Floors are often worn terrazzo or older ceramic tile, smooth and stained easily by cooking grease that drifts up from street level.
Curtains in the apartment buildings here become visibly heavy with black dust quickly because the main roads are close and wind carries the grit directly through windows and gaps in old frames. For the method itself, see our guide to curtain cleaning.
Al Ammariyah sits on Makkah Road and between major arterials. Fine black dust from traffic enters through windows and gaps in old seals and accumulates on curtains rapidly, coating them black within weeks.
Small restaurants and shops in ground floor units send cooking smell and grease particles up to the flats above. Curtains trap this smell and oily residue, becoming heavy and sour-smelling.
Old doors and windows do not seal well, so polluted air enters constantly through cracks. Narrow streets and closely spaced buildings trap and concentrate air, and moisture and odours stay inside the flat.
Al Ammariyah is a central district around Eve Cemetery, the city's oldest burial ground, sitting between Bab Makkah, Al Kandarah and Makkah Road on the landward side of old Jeddah. Older apartment buildings fill a tight street grid, with Al Matar Street and Khalid ibn Al Walid Street close by.
Curtains in old apartment buildings may be decades old and fragile, or newly hung on a corroded rail. Testing comes before removal to establish safety and condition.
Removal from rusted rails requires care to avoid tearing the curtain. Fastenings and rings may be corroded, and rehang may need rust treatment or replacement parts.
Black dust binds tightly, so vigorous vacuum and repeated tapping are essential. Grease requires separate treatment before washing.
Deep oily residue and old odours need targeted pre-treatment designed for fragile old fabrics.
Very old fabrics may be fragile, so water temperature must be low and drying must be rapid to avoid deterioration.
Rehang includes rail cleaning and treatment, fastening inspection and rust remediation where needed to prevent rust marks on the clean curtain.
Cotton, linen, velvet, blackout weave and synthetic sheers do not take the same heat or the same solution.
Before any water.
A water spot at the hem is not treated like a greasy film near a kitchen.
We loosen what has bonded inside the fibres across the full panel, both faces and top to hem, with the method that suits the fabric, while the curtains stay on the rail so the drape is not disturbed.
The loosened dirt and water are pulled back out in the same pass.
We go over the panels with you before the team leaves.

We send a team, not a single worker.
The cleaning and extraction machines come with the team.
If a panel needs a tailor rather than a clean, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
Central Jeddah is the old heart of the city: Al Balad with its coral stone houses, and the dense apartment quarters around it with shops beneath the flats. Floors here are often terrazzo or older ceramic tile, worn smooth and easily stained by cooking grease that drifts up from the street. Older kitchens and bathrooms carry heavy scale on taps and around drains, and pipework in the older blocks leaves rust marks in basins. Rugs and curtains take on the fine black dust of the main roads, so they need washing more often than elsewhere.
We provide these in Al Ammariyah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
