The access to reach it safely
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.

Al Balad is the historic heart of Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage old town of coral limestone houses with wooden rawashin lattice-work and narrow lanes where shops trade below flats. Chandeliers here are often antique, hung in cramped high rooms, and dust mixed with cooking grease from the souqs below rises daily into homes.
Chandeliers in Al Balad are usually antique and need careful handling. Narrow spaces restrict the use of large stepping gear, and ceilings may be old timber beams that are delicate. For the method itself, see our chandelier cleaning service in detail.
Al Balad is built of very old coral stone and wooden lattice work, constructed two centuries ago. The electrical wiring may be very aged. We cut power carefully and wait for the wires to cool completely before touching the fixture.
The lanes in Al Balad are very narrow and the entry may be a single tight doorway. Large ladders cannot fit. We carry small tools step by step, and we test the old stairs, which may not be safe for heavy loads.
Antique chandeliers in Al Balad may have missing parts or tarnished crystals. We cut power first and inspect strength before dismantling. If we see any risk we tell you before starting work.
The historic commercial core of Jeddah with a tight-knit medieval street pattern, close-set stone buildings and shops beneath the housing, with narrow lanes and old buildings where electrical wiring may be aged.
Antique chandeliers in old homes need very careful inspection. We check every mounting point and every crystal before dismantling begins.
Wiring in old homes may be brittle. We cut power at the main board and let the wires cool completely before touching them.
Tight spaces limit equipment choice. We photograph the layout carefully before dismantling from different angles.
Antique pieces are washed in very warm water with sensitive soap. Only light rubbing, we do not use hard brushes.
Wooden frames and brass arms need sensitive cleaning. We use very soft cloth and warm water only.
Reassembly is done with great care, each piece returning to its original place as shown in the photographs.
The circuit is switched off before anything is touched, and warm bulbs are given time to cool.
We check how it is built, which crystals are loose, and how it comes apart before removing a thing.
The area under the fixture is covered before we start, so a dropped crystal lands soft and nothing marks the floor or table below.
Where the piece allows, crystals come off and are washed and dried individually.
With the crystals off or aside, the frame, arms, bulb holders and ceiling mount are wiped down, since that is where film and webs hide behind the glass.
Every crystal goes back to its place, the fixture is switched on and checked, and we walk the room with you.
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.
We send a team, not one person, so crystals come off, get washed and go back in one visit, without a lone worker hurrying a fragile piece to finish before dark.
Whether crystals come off or are cleaned in place depends on how the fixture is built.
Nothing is done until the fixture is back together, switched on, and you have seen it throw its light.
Photographs from real jobs carried out by the crew.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the fixture is reassembled, lit, and you have seen it for yourself.
Al Balad is a UNESCO-listed historic zone bounded by Bab Makkah and Bab Sharif, where Souq Al Alawi and the traditional markets around Nassif House release grease and smoke upwards throughout the day. We reach the flats through narrow lanes circling the Al Shafi'i Mosque.
We provide these in Al Balad too, and more than one can share a single visit.
