The right gear for drinking water
Pumps to clear sludge, scrubbing to remove biofilm, and disinfectant meant for potable storage.

Al Buhairat is a new development within Obhur Al Shamaliyah subdivisions, with building work ongoing and vacant plots scattered among newly completed homes. Tanks here are in houses still settling, and dust from construction sites enters tanks with every breeze. Water comes out cloudy even after professional cleaning because newly poured foundations continue to shed fine particles and the supply pipes themselves are still clearing sediment from installation.
Water in Al Buhairat often remains cloudy for weeks after cleaning because construction activity in neighbouring plots continues to raise dust daily, and tanks in newly completed homes may contain construction water from the building process itself. For the method itself, see the full water tank cleaning page.
Al Buhairat is a young district where foundations are still settling and internal streets remain under development. Dust from excavation and building enters homes and tanks through every vent. Moisture from fresh foundations enters via tank ventilation, and water carries particles from newly disturbed earth.
New construction uses cement, sand and water, and fresh foundations release fine particles into surrounding water systems for years. Tank water may appear milky or cloudy not from the tank itself but from the distribution network still clearing construction sediment from pipes and joints.
Recently built homes and newly installed tanks may not be perfectly sealed during construction. Air and dust enter more readily. Early cleaning and disinfection help assess actual tank condition and identify any gaps in the seal that may need fixing before problems compound.
The new district has freshly surfaced internal roads and ongoing street lighting works across dozens of kilometres, and excavated land and active construction sites around it generate continuous dust and moisture that clouds every tank nearby.
Tank checked before we start: in new construction, we assess the tank from outside first to evaluate installation quality and seals. New tanks may show loose connections or small gaps from rushed installation work.
Old water drained out: the first water may be very cloudy or milky and may carry odours from construction chemicals. Full evacuation removes all of it.
Sediment vacuumed from the bottom: sediment in new tanks is often a mix of earth, fine sand and chemical particles from building materials. Strong suction removes all deposits completely.
Walls and floor scrubbed: new tank walls may be relatively smooth, but manual scrubbing ensures removal of any thin film of dust or early biofilm formation.
Interior surfaces disinfected: approved disinfectant kills bacteria from construction water and old fill. On new homes, the first disinfection is especially important.
Final rinse and lid check: rinsing may require multiple passes to clear all milky water. The cover is inspected carefully, as new installations sometimes leave gaps that need sealing.
The supply into the tank is shut and the tank is drained completely.
The sludge on the floor is scooped and pumped out first.
The biofilm on the walls is physically scrubbed off.
With the walls and floor clean, a disinfectant made for drinking-water storage is applied and given time to act on every surface.
The disinfectant and any loosened residue are rinsed down and pumped out, so the first tank of water after us is not carrying it.
We check the cover seal and inlet before refilling, so dust and insects stay out, then start the refill while you watch it run clear.
New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes
Ongoing construction in Al Buhairat means tanks experience constant pressure from dust and moisture, and new foundations continuously shed fine particles that cloud water. Thorough disinfection is essential, and early cleaning is better than waiting for everything to settle.

We send a team, not one person, so a tank is drained, cleaned, disinfected and refilled in a single visit rather than left open for days.
We look at the lid seal and inlet, because a tank that got dirty fast usually has a way in.
Nothing is closed until the tank is refilling and you have seen the water run clean.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the tank is disinfected, refilling, and you have seen it for yourself.
Al Buhairat is easily reached via Jeddah Madinah Road from the north and King Abdulaziz Road from the south, and work in this rapidly developing neighbourhood requires familiarity with internal streets that are still under construction and layout adjustment.
We provide these in Al Buhairat too, and more than one can share a single visit.
