We test before we wash
Testing the product on a hidden patch is a step we treat as necessary rather than optional.
Al Kandarah is a dense commercial zone on King Fahd Road with shops, showrooms and small stores at street level on every side. Flats above the shops absorb cooking and commercial smells daily. Cooking odours and exhaust from the Kandarah Souq and Old Makkah Road penetrate upward into the upholstery, and those odours are trapped rather than surface soiling.
Sofas in residential flats here carry strong cooking and commercial odours more than in purely residential areas, and kitchen moisture deepens how far odours travel into the foam and fabric. For the method itself, see the full sofa and upholstery cleaning page.
Flats above restaurants and shops inhale odours from below throughout the day. Smells enter the fabric and foam and compound over time. Vacuuming and washing must treat trapped odours, not only visible soiling, and require methods different from household odours.
Terrazzo and older ceramic tiles here are worn smooth and easily marked by the cooking grease that drifts up from the street and kitchens below. Sofas and rugs absorb this heavy oil residue which needs special treatment to prevent re-staining after cleaning.
Tightly spaced flats and older kitchens here trap moisture and odour. Sofas absorb both together, so treatment needs strong ventilation and controlled drying after washing to prevent musty smells returning once the sofa dries.
Al Kandarah contains the Kandarah Souq known for trade, dense shops on Old Makkah Road and King Khalid Road, Jeddah National Hospital and continuous commercial activity. The district is bounded by East Baghdadiyah to the north and residential quarters to the south.
Fabrics in commercial flats differ in weave because heavy daily use requires stronger material, so testing determines the cleaning method safe for the weave.
Deep vacuuming removes commercial dust and fine road grit, and cooking oils need vacuuming before washing to lift them from the surface.
Washing uses a strong product adequate to remove oil and odour, but remains safe for fabric used every day in a busy household.
Cushions carry odours and moisture more than the main sofa, so they need vacuuming on both faces and separate odour treatment.
Stains from oils and food need dry pre-treatment to break down the grease before any wet washing is applied to the fabric.
Ventilation here is essential, and we leave fans running and confirm dryness and that odours have gone completely before we depart.
Cotton, velvet, chenille and synthetics do not take the same heat or the same product.
Before any water.
An oil mark is not treated like a juice mark.
We wash with the method that suits the fabric.
The piece is left slightly damp, never wet.
We go over the pieces with you before leaving.
Al Kandarah is served by King Fahd Road as the main northern access and Old Makkah Road from the south, with the Kandarah Souq at its centre. We reach residential flats through side streets between the shops, hospitals and trading premises.

The company employs more than forty cleaners, and we send a crew rather than an individual.
The washing and extraction machines are ours and travel with the crew.
If a piece needs reupholstering rather than washing, we say so.
Photographs from real jobs carried out by the crew.

The commitment is simple enough to be keepable: we do not leave until you have seen the result and given your view of it.
Central Jeddah is the old heart of the city: Al Balad with its coral stone houses, and the dense apartment quarters around it with shops beneath the flats. Floors here are often terrazzo or older ceramic tile, worn smooth and easily stained by cooking grease that drifts up from the street. Older kitchens and bathrooms carry heavy scale on taps and around drains, and pipework in the older blocks leaves rust marks in basins. Rugs and curtains take on the fine black dust of the main roads, so they need washing more often than elsewhere.
We provide these in Al Kandarah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
