We test before we treat
Reading the water first isn't optional to us.

Al Shati Al Thahabi pools lie in a new coastal district within the Obhur Al Shamaliyah plans, newly released land and villas close to the Red Sea. Salty sea air, high humidity year round and constant salt spray mean the water goes out of balance quickly. This is not a standard Jeddah neighbourhood, but a special coastal environment requiring testing and management that is completely different from inland districts.
Salt is in the air constantly year round, and humidity stays above 70 percent even on dry days. Water needs salinity testing at least weekly and full assessment every three or four days. For the method itself, see the full swimming pool cleaning page.
Al Shati Al Thahabi sits directly on the sea, so salt is present in the air every hour. Salt deposits find their way into the water and metal components in the pump and filter corrode at an unusually fast rate. Salinity testing is not optional, it is essential.
Sea moisture creates ideal conditions for algae and bacteria growth even in winter. Chlorine is consumed faster than any other Jeddah neighbourhood. Walls need very frequent brushing to prevent algae and biofilm forming on surfaces and at the waterline.
The district is new and land around the villas has not yet settled. Fine sand and earth enter the pool on the wind. Plants and trees are still young, but bare ground means plenty of dust.
Al Shati Al Thahabi is a modern coastal district within Obhur Al Shamaliyah subdivisions in north Jeddah, newly released coastal land and villas, sitting directly beside the Red Sea.
Salinity testing comes first, before chlorine and pH, because salt is the primary issue here.
Wall brushing focuses on preventing algae and biofilm because humidity encourages rapid growth.
Vacuuming may be daily or every other day because sand and sediment from wind and sea spray settle constantly.
The skimmer fills with sand, salt and marine residue, so we clean it with special care every visit.
The filter here needs attention: salt and sand clog it at an unusually fast rate, requiring frequent backwashing.
Final chemical balance includes testing salt, humidity indicator, chlorine and pH all together.
pH, sanitiser and hardness are read at the start.
Floating leaves and debris come off before we brush.
Algae and the oily waterline film cling to the surfaces.
Silt settles in the deep end and the corners the return jets never reach.
The skimmer and pump baskets are cleared and the filter checked or backwashed.
With the water clean, we balance and dose, then walk the pool with you before leaving.
Al Shati Al Thahabi sits about 4 km from Balbeid and about 5.5 km from Al Furqan.

The company runs a large crew, and we send a team rather than one person.
Pumps, vacuum heads and the test kit come with the team.
If the pump or the plumbing is the real problem, we tell you.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we don't leave until you've seen the result and had your say on it.
Coastal area: high humidity and salt air through the year
A coastal area means salt and salty air year round, and humidity encourages algae and bacteria growth at speed. Maintenance here is not just about cleanliness but about managing salt, humidity and chlorine together, an equation completely different from inland districts where these three factors are much less demanding.
We provide these in Al Shati Al Thahabi too, and more than one can share a single visit.
