We test before we treat
Reading the water first isn't optional to us.

Al Ammariyah is a historic central Jeddah district around the Eve Cemetery, the city's oldest burial ground, positioned between Bab Makkah and Makkah Road on the edge of old Al Balad. Old apartment buildings crowd a very tight street grid, and pools are rare but when they exist the water is affected by density and age in particular ways.
Pools here are very rare and usually small plunge pools in shared courtyards, and water retains high humidity while walls suffer from mould due to constant shade and poor air circulation. For the method itself, see our guide to swimming pool cleaning.
Al Ammariyah is extremely dense with tight lanes: pools in shared courtyards sit in shadow from the apartment blocks all day. Little light means more algae and the water stays perpetually damp even in hot summer.
Al Ammariyah is extremely old and the pipework may date from many decades ago. The water may carry high minerals and salinity from the ancient ground beneath. Testing first is critical because the problem may be in the water source itself, not the walls or pool.
If the pool is shared between several families, heavy use puts pressure on the whole system. The filter clogs faster and water needs more frequent treatment. Coordinating access times with residents matters for scheduling work efficiently.
The district is surrounded by a centuries-old cemetery and squeezed into a very narrow street grid of old residential blocks, and the ground is naturally damp because ancient water tables lie close beneath.
Water from very old pipes needs precise testing for salts and total dissolved solids: chlorine may not work efficiently if minerals are high, so we test pH and alkalinity first before any additions.
Black walls and mould buildup of many years need very careful brushing because old tile may be thin and fragile, and after scrubbing we test the water and explain to residents that humidity may return the problem.
Vacuuming is very slow because the closed courtyard blocks light and water may be turbid, and deposits may be hard packed so moderate pressure is needed rather than force to avoid stirring sediment.
The skimmer may be clogged from years of neglect: thorough cleaning inside and out is essential, and we may need to carefully disassemble light piping to remove scale.
The filter may need strong backwashing and we may require two passes in one visit because scale has accumulated. We test water pressure after washing: if it remains weak, we recommend professional deep cleaning.
After dosing we check for leaks in the old pipes: extra humidity may come from an underground leak beneath the courtyard. We ask residents about unusual dampness in nearby rooms or under the floor.
pH, sanitiser and hardness are read at the start.
Floating leaves and debris come off before we brush.
Algae and the oily waterline film cling to the surfaces.
Silt settles in the deep end and the corners the return jets never reach.
The skimmer and pump baskets are cleared and the filter checked or backwashed.
With the water clean, we balance and dose, then walk the pool with you before leaving.
Reading the water first isn't optional to us.
The company runs a large crew, and we send a team rather than one person.
Pumps, vacuum heads and the test kit come with the team.
If the pump or the plumbing is the real problem, we tell you.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we don't leave until you've seen the result and had your say on it.
Central Jeddah is the old heart of the city: Al Balad with its coral stone houses, and the dense apartment quarters around it with shops beneath the flats. Floors here are often terrazzo or older ceramic tile, worn smooth and easily stained by cooking grease that drifts up from the street. Older kitchens and bathrooms carry heavy scale on taps and around drains, and pipework in the older blocks leaves rust marks in basins. Rugs and curtains take on the fine black dust of the main roads, so they need washing more often than elsewhere.
We provide these in Al Ammariyah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
