We work empty homes daily
An empty home is a different job from a lived-in one, it exposes everything and lets us reach it.

Al Balad is the historic commercial heart of Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage site with coral limestone tower houses and wooden rawashin latticework, souqs and daily trade markets around Bab Makkah and Bab Sharif. The buildings are very old and the porous stone and damp wood carry years of dust, grease and scents. Cleaning before furniture arrives removes black dust from the busy street, accumulated grease from restaurants and cooking, and the scent of spice and incense from the souqs before new fabrics absorb them.
Fine black dust from the commercial street clings tenaciously to curtains and carpets, and the old damp stone and timber carry the scent of souqs, spices and incense that persists in fabrics even after cleaning. For the method itself, see our guide to move-in and move-out cleaning.
Al Balad is Jeddah's commercial heart and the souqs are full of traffic, grease, spice and dust. Fine black dust clings to everything. The porous coral stone of old homes absorbs this dust deep into the material. Deep cleaning before furniture arrives removes dust from surface and stone alike.
The busy spice markets and perfumeries release strong scents and oily particles that cling to everything. Curtains, carpets and fabrics absorb these scents rapidly. Cleaning an empty home removes a layer of scent before new furniture enters and re-absorbs it.
Coral limestone and old timber absorb moisture from salt air and the busy souqs below. This causes musty smells and possible mould in corners. Deep cleaning and thorough drying before furniture arrives reduce humidity and mould.
The historic commercial centre of Jeddah around the daily souqs, the Alawi and Bedouin markets between Bab Makkah and Bab Sharif. Coral stone houses with historic wooden latticed screens are registered as UNESCO World Heritage, with Nassif House and Al Shafi'i Mosque among the area's landmarks.
Cupboards and storage in the old home hold dust, scent and moisture. We open them carefully and clean inside and out, being cautious with old timber.
The old kitchen holds accumulated grease, cooking odours and souq scents. We focus on deep cleaning with special care for historic stone and timber.
The old bathroom holds scale and possible mould from moisture. We remove scale and mould carefully from old stone and aged ceramic.
Stone or terrazzo floors carry black dust and grease. We sweep carefully and wipe gently to avoid damage to old stone materials.
Old windows and tracks may be fragile and carry dust. We clean with great care to avoid breakage, and timber is sensitive to excess moisture.
Doors, switches and light fittings are historic and may be fragile. We clean with great caution and metal fittings may be antique.
We go room to room, note the condition, and agree what's dirt to clean versus damage to report.
Ceiling corners, vents, light fixtures, tops of cabinets and doors, dusted before any water touches a surface, so we're not turning that dust into streaks lower down.
Empty is the moment.
Degrease the counters and fronts, then clean the walls and floor where the stove and fridge stood.
Scale on glass and taps and the grout between tiles is broken down, not just wiped over.
Floors come last, after the dust above has settled and been cleared.

We send a team, not one person.
Degreasers, descalers and machines arrive with the team.
At the walk-through we tell you plainly what's cleaned and what's wear the clean can't fix, so you're not surprised at your own handover.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we don't leave until you've walked the property and told us what you think.
A home close to Nassif House, Al Shafi'i Mosque, Souq Al Alawi or Souq Al Badu needs deep cleaning from souq dust, spices and grease. We reach it via the narrow historic souqs, focusing on removing market, incense and spice scents absorbed into the old coral stone.
We provide these in Al Balad too, and more than one can share a single visit.
