We test before we degrease
Testing the solution on a hidden spot is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Qaws is a district in east Jeddah along the course of Wadi Al Qaws, a mixed neighbourhood where shops occupy the ground floors and homes sit above them. Kitchens here accumulate heavy grease because the air rising from shops below carries heat, moisture and cooking oils upward into the flats and villas.
Kitchens in flats above shops in Al Qaws gather grease from the cooking below and rising humid air carrying kitchen smells, so the film sticks harder and thicker than in purely residential areas. For the method itself, see the full kitchen cleaning page.
The neighbourhood mixes commercial ground floors with residential units above. Warm humid air and cooking oils from the shops below rise into the kitchens in the upper storeys. The grease becomes heavier and stickier than in purely residential districts where the air comes from outside.
Kitchens in flats above shops may need powerful extraction but windows may open onto busy streets or face commercial activity. The air coming in is often warm and humid rather than clean and cooling.
Al Qaws sits along an ancient wadi bed, and the area holds more moisture than other neighbourhoods even in dry seasons. Humidity makes grease stick harder and mould may appear in corners and grout lines.
The district runs along an ancient wadi bed that was the source of Jeddah's well known 2009 flood, with mixed buildings of shops and homes, and surfaces that range from old to newer construction.
Cabinet fronts gather heavy grease from shops below, so we use a strong product and leave it working a long time.
The hood and filter may have black grease from the shop, and we may need a strong product and long soaking.
The hob and oven may have grease mixed with mould because of the humidity, so we focus on choosing the right product.
Tile behind the hob may gather mould in the grout lines because of extra humidity from the wadi and the shop.
The sink and tap may have black grease and mineral deposits from humidity, so we soak them long before friction.
The floor may be slippery from humidity, so we take care during cleaning and may need careful drying afterwards.
Painted cabinets, laminate, natural stone and stainless steel do not take the same degreaser.
We start high, the tops of cabinets and the hood, and work down to the floor.
The degreaser is put on the heavy areas and given time to break the oil down before it is wiped.
The metal filter carries the worst of the grease and is soaked and worked on its own, not just wiped in place, because a clogged filter puts the oil straight back into the air.
The burners, the tiled splash and the grout lines take focused work, since the grout darkens first and a flat wipe passes over it.
We go over the kitchen with you before the team leaves.
Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them
Living above a shop means your kitchen is exposed to air and cooking oils from the business below, so grease builds up faster and cooking odours may return quickly even after cleaning.
Testing the solution on a hidden spot is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.
We send a team, not a single worker.
The degreasers and tools come with the team.
If what the kitchen needs is a repair or pest treatment rather than a clean, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
Al Qaws sits along the course of the famous Wadi Al Qaws and lies close to the Mareekh Mountains, with work reaching via residential roads around the valley. The wadi location affects humidity levels and grease stays heavier and stickier for longer.
We provide these in Al Qaws too, and more than one can share a single visit.
