We test before we degrease
Testing the solution on a hidden spot is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Hindawiyah is a very old crowded quarter next to Jeddah Islamic Port dating from the nineteenth century, with dense residential blocks above a great many shops and traditional markets on narrow streets. Kitchens here are in century old buildings carrying very thick mineral scale on old taps, rust from ancient pipework, and grease built up over generations.
Old brass and iron pipes in the ancient walls leave rust and smell everywhere, not just in the water itself. For the method itself, see the full kitchen cleaning page.
Taps and valves here carry such thick deposits built up over decades that some may not open easily. Scale has calcified hard and needs very strong degreasers and very long soaking.
Pipes in the walls are very ancient and some are broken from inside. They leave orange and green rust marks in basins and sinks. This is not simple surface rust but deep metal corrosion.
The quarter sits very close to the sea and humidity is very high. Salt leaves a white film on windows, floors and cabinets. This mixes with grease and makes everything much harder to clean.
The quarter sits beside the port with very high humidity and sea salt in the air. Buildings are from the nineteenth century and the water system is old with high mineral content.
Cabinet fronts in old buildings here absorb both grease and humidity together. The timber may be fragile and the old paint very prone to peeling.
The hood is very old and the filter may not be cleanable. It may need replacing or special handling rather than standard cleaning.
Oven and stovetop are very old and may carry grease from decades past. The cleaning method must match the material of the oven itself.
Tiles behind the hob are very old and may be fragile. Grout gaps are completely blocked with grease, salt and mould together.
Taps and basin may not open easily from heavy deposits, and both may show deep rust from the old pipes themselves.
Floors are very old terrazzo or worn ceramic tile. Cleaning needs great care and gentleness, not force or aggression.
Painted cabinets, laminate, natural stone and stainless steel do not take the same degreaser.
We start high, the tops of cabinets and the hood, and work down to the floor.
The degreaser is put on the heavy areas and given time to break the oil down before it is wiped.
The metal filter carries the worst of the grease and is soaked and worked on its own, not just wiped in place, because a clogged filter puts the oil straight back into the air.
The burners, the tiled splash and the grout lines take focused work, since the grout darkens first and a flat wipe passes over it.
We go over the kitchen with you before the team leaves.

We send a team, not a single worker.
The degreasers and tools come with the team.
If what the kitchen needs is a repair or pest treatment rather than a clean, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
Al Dhahab Street and Port Street run through the old heart of the quarter, and kitchens here are much older and far more difficult than in newer districts, because the buildings themselves date from the nineteenth century and the pipework is centuries old.
We provide these in Al Hindawiyah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
