We test before we clean
Testing the solution on a hidden fold is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Yaman is one of the four historic quarters inside the old walled city, its buildings tightly packed and its lanes very narrow indeed. Curtains here are as old as the stone they hang on. Years of dust are locked in the folds, and still air means everything settles and nothing blows away. The fabrics are fragile and cleaning needs a very light hand.
Air in the narrow lanes is still, and fine black dust from the main roads nearby settles on curtains heavily and deeply. For the method itself, see our curtain cleaning service in detail.
Stone pressed against stone and lanes very tight indeed trap the air still. Curtains hung on small windows do not move easily. Dust does not vacuum because there is no wind to stir it. Dust settles deep into the folds.
People chose heavy fabrics many decades ago, and now the threads are weak and brittle. Washing could tear very old cloth. We need an extremely light hand and warm water only.
Old coral stone weeps moisture from below. Curtains absorb it from the walls. Brown marks may come from moisture so old that it is hard to remove. Cleaning may not remove all the brown stains.
Al Yaman is one of the four historic quarters within the old walled Jeddah, in the southern part of Al Balad, with heritage stone and timber residential buildings, close to Hassan Annani Mosque and Souk Al Alawi.
The fabric is very old, we inspect it gently to see if it can tolerate water at all.
Taking them down needs extreme care because threads are so weak they may tear.
Dry vacuum is very gentle because both dust and the fabric are delicate.
Old stains from moisture and rust may not come completely clean.
Cleaning uses very cool water and very low heat.
Rehanging and drying need a dry spot and ventilation but not strong direct sun.
Cotton, linen, velvet, blackout weave and synthetic sheers do not take the same heat or the same solution.
Before any water.
A water spot at the hem is not treated like a greasy film near a kitchen.
We loosen what has bonded inside the fibres across the full panel, both faces and top to hem, with the method that suits the fabric, while the curtains stay on the rail so the drape is not disturbed.
The loosened dirt and water are pulled back out in the same pass.
We go over the panels with you before the team leaves.
Al Yaman sits about 0.5 km from Al Sahifah and about 0.5 km from Historic Jeddah.

We send a team, not a single worker.
The cleaning and extraction machines come with the team.
If a panel needs a tailor rather than a clean, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
Al Yaman sits in the heart of the old city, Hassan Annani Mosque is very close and Souk Al Alawi sits beside it, and reaching the flats means walking narrow lanes that are too tight for large equipment.
We provide these in Al Yaman too, and more than one can share a single visit.
