We test before we clean
Testing the solution on a hidden fold is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Sahifah is an old apartment district at the heart of Jeddah, wedged between Al Balad and Al Kandarah on Old Makkah Road and King Abdulaziz Road. Apartment blocks stand close together with shared entrances and shared air. Curtains here trap street dust from the main road, smell from the narrow lanes and shops, and hold moisture in the stagnant air. Cleaning them means understanding old building stock and the complex deposits that time has built into the fabric.
Curtains in the old apartment buildings here collect fine black dust from the main road, leaving visible marks on light-coloured fabrics within a few weeks of washing. For the method itself, see the full curtain cleaning page.
Apartment blocks in Al Sahifah stand close together, so the air does not flow or refresh easily and humidity pools between the buildings. Curtains trap this stale air, the moisture, old cooking smells from kitchens and bathroom odours that seep into the weave.
Old Makkah Road and King Abdulaziz Road are main arterials. Dust from them is black, fine and oily. It binds tightly to the curtain and carries with it diesel fumes and vehicle exhaust that sit deeply in the weave and need specialised treatment.
Old apartment buildings have old water distribution networks, and high indoor humidity leaves lime scale on rails and metal fittings. Rails may be rusted or clogged with deposits that affect safe removal and rehang.
Al Sahifah is an old central district adjoining historic Jeddah landward, sitting between Al Balad, Al Ammariyah, Al Kandarah and Al Sabil. Old Makkah Road runs along the northern edge and King Abdulaziz Road cuts through the quarter. The urban fabric is dense and old, interleaved with shops and active businesses.
Curtains in old apartment buildings may be decades old and fragile, or newly hung on a corroded rail. Testing the fabric and the rail comes before any removal is attempted.
Removal from rusted rails needs care to avoid tearing the curtain. Fastenings and rings may be corroded or stuck, and rehang may need new clips, hooks or sections of rail.
Fine black dust from the road binds tightly, so vigorous dry vacuum and repeated tapping are essential before water is used.
Deep dust and old odours need targeted treatment designed for old fragile fabrics, and the treatment may be slower and gentler than for modern cloth.
Old fabrics may be fragile, so water temperature must be carefully chosen and drying must be rapid to prevent mustiness and decay.
Rehang requires cleaning the rail, treating rust, replacing damaged fittings and testing the track before the curtain is raised and secured.
Cotton, linen, velvet, blackout weave and synthetic sheers do not take the same heat or the same solution.
Before any water.
A water spot at the hem is not treated like a greasy film near a kitchen.
We loosen what has bonded inside the fibres across the full panel, both faces and top to hem, with the method that suits the fabric, while the curtains stay on the rail so the drape is not disturbed.
The loosened dirt and water are pulled back out in the same pass.
We go over the panels with you before the team leaves.
Apartment district: residential blocks, repeated floors and shared entrances
In a crowded apartment district with old buildings, curtains suffer from stagnant humid air, lime scale from old pipes and deep street pollution. Cleaning here means handling fragile old fabrics, corroded rails, and odours trapped years deep in the weave.
Testing the solution on a hidden fold is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.
We send a team, not a single worker.
The cleaning and extraction machines come with the team.
If a panel needs a tailor rather than a clean, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think of it.
Al Sahifah sits around King Abdulaziz Road and Khalid ibn Al Walid Street, between King Abdulaziz Mosque and Bab Sharif. Locating the flat by its relationship to these streets and the mosque tells us which building, which entrance, and how to reach it.
We provide these in Al Sahifah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
