The access to reach it safely
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.

Al Rayyan is an apartment district in east Jeddah, far from the sea and close to open ground and mountains beyond the ring roads. The air here is dry and the dust is coarse and pale. Sand and grit enter under doors overnight and settle on every flat surface before anyone wakes to start the day. A chandelier collects this dust quickly and a quick wipe cannot reach the layers that build on the crystals.
Dust in Al Rayyan is coarser and paler than on the coast, entering under doors and windows and settling overnight in visible thickness. Chandeliers need deeper scrubbing here than in the humid neighbourhoods by the sea. For the method itself, see our guide to chandelier cleaning.
Al Rayyan lies far from the sea and close to hills and open ground behind the ring roads, where the air is dry and dust rises from the hills and wadis and is heated by the roads. The dust is coarse and heavy and settles at night on every surface in visible layers, coating everything thickly.
Door gaps in Al Rayyan flats are small but sand slips through daily with the cool of the night. A chandelier hung in the sitting room collects this fine light sand that settles in layers on every crystal and dulls the shine.
Water from the roof tanks carries mineral deposits, and the humidity in the flat lifts these salts from basins and pipes into the air. The chandelier attracts this grey film from the indoor air before it settles anywhere else.
East Jeddah district between the air base bridge and Al Kawthar, comprising the Al Thuraya and Al Sultan schemes with apartment blocks on a wide street grid. Floors are mostly ceramic tile in the apartment areas, and roof tank water leaves sediment deposits that form a grey film in baths and basins.
We inspect the chandelier for accumulated dust layers and faint rust from moisture, and we tap each crystal to confirm it sits firmly in its holder before any movement.
We cut the power and let it cool, then place heavy protection beneath the chandelier because dry dust can leave scratches if a piece falls on tile.
We photograph the arrangement carefully before dismantling, since the dry dust leaves white traces on the crystal that help us verify the cleaning afterwards.
We wash each piece separately in clean warm water to remove dust and mineral deposits, soak briefly for stubborn scale, then scrub gently because dry dust can scratch if scrubbed harshly.
We scrub the frame and arms with broad gentle strokes to lift accumulated dust and white deposits, and we inspect tight gaps carefully because dust gathers in them thickly.
We reassemble in the same order, test the lighting and confirm every crystal is stable before we restore power to the fixture.
The circuit is switched off before anything is touched, and warm bulbs are given time to cool.
We check how it is built, which crystals are loose, and how it comes apart before removing a thing.
The area under the fixture is covered before we start, so a dropped crystal lands soft and nothing marks the floor or table below.
Where the piece allows, crystals come off and are washed and dried individually.
With the crystals off or aside, the frame, arms, bulb holders and ceiling mount are wiped down, since that is where film and webs hide behind the glass.
Every crystal goes back to its place, the fixture is switched on and checked, and we walk the room with you.
Al Rayyan is bounded by the Air Base Bridge to the west, and served by the Al Thuraya Scheme and Al Sultan Scheme as main axes. These landmarks help us locate flats precisely and confirm positions for the crew.
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.
We send a team, not one person, so crystals come off, get washed and go back in one visit, without a lone worker hurrying a fragile piece to finish before dark.
Whether crystals come off or are cleaned in place depends on how the fixture is built.
Nothing is done until the fixture is back together, switched on, and you have seen it throw its light.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the fixture is reassembled, lit, and you have seen it for yourself.
East Jeddah lies furthest from the sea and closest to the open ground and hills beyond the ring roads, so the air is drier and the dust is coarser and paler than on the coast. It comes in under doors and settles on every flat surface overnight, making sofas, mattresses and curtains the heaviest part of the routine. Floors are mostly ceramic tile in the apartment districts and marble in the villa areas, both scratched by grit that is mopped rather than swept. Roof tank water leaves a grey film of sediment in baths and basins.
We provide these in Al Rayyan too, and more than one can share a single visit.
