The access to reach it safely
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.

Al Nuzlah East is a dense old apartment district in south Jeddah adjoining Al Nuzlah Yamaniyah, with tall residential blocks and narrow streets. Chandeliers here hang in small flats with relatively low ceilings, and reaching them demands climbing narrow stairs and passing through shared corridors. High residential density means coordination with neighbours and building management on every job.
Chandeliers here accumulate grime faster because low ceilings mean cooking smoke and dust collect directly around the fixture, especially in small flats where kitchens open onto the living room. For the method itself, see how we approach chandelier cleaning.
Ceilings in old Al Nuzlah East flats are often barely 2.5 metres high, and a flat may be only 80 square metres for three rooms. The chandelier hangs in a small sitting area, and dismantling and cleaning it demands tight space and careful technique to avoid hitting walls or furniture.
Flats built close together share cooking fumes and odours. Smoke and cooking oils rise and settle on chandeliers faster than in spacious homes. Cleaning every two months rather than three may be necessary here to prevent buildup.
Reaching a flat demands climbing narrow staircases where railings may be broken or loose. Shared corridors are dim and often cluttered. Carrying cleaning equipment requires extra effort and care not to disturb or damage shared spaces or neighbouring homes.
Positioned in south Jeddah, bounded by Old Makkah Road to the north, Madain Al Fahd Road to the east and Al Quraiyat to the west, the district holds older apartment buildings on tight streets with side alleys even narrower.
Old small flats need electrical safety checks before we touch anything, because the wiring may already be frail, and we inspect all connections carefully before proceeding.
We cut power from the main breaker and confirm it works. In old buildings, breakers may be faulty or hard to reach, so we ask the resident to locate it first.
We photograph the fixture and its location from multiple angles before dismantling, because the tight space demands precise memory of where every piece goes.
Each piece is washed in warm water with gentle cleaner, then rinsed thoroughly with fresh water, taking care not to splash water across the limited floor space.
The frame and arms are cleaned of cooking grease and smoke residue with an appropriate cleaner, then inspected for any cracks caused by heat cycling over time.
After reassembly, we power the fixture on and watch it carefully in the tight space to confirm the mounting is stable and all wiring is secure.
The circuit is switched off before anything is touched, and warm bulbs are given time to cool.
We check how it is built, which crystals are loose, and how it comes apart before removing a thing.
The area under the fixture is covered before we start, so a dropped crystal lands soft and nothing marks the floor or table below.
Where the piece allows, crystals come off and are washed and dried individually.
With the crystals off or aside, the frame, arms, bulb holders and ceiling mount are wiped down, since that is where film and webs hide behind the glass.
Every crystal goes back to its place, the fixture is switched on and checked, and we walk the room with you.
Apartment district: residential blocks, repeated floors and shared entrances
An apartment district means residential blocks with shared entrances and repeated floors, so coordination with building management and neighbouring residents is essential. Small flats demand special care in protecting furnishings and floors, and old wiring must be checked before any work begins.
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.
We send a team, not one person, so crystals come off, get washed and go back in one visit, without a lone worker hurrying a fragile piece to finish before dark.
Whether crystals come off or are cleaned in place depends on how the fixture is built.
Nothing is done until the fixture is back together, switched on, and you have seen it throw its light.
Photographs from real jobs carried out by the crew.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the fixture is reassembled, lit, and you have seen it for yourself.
Al Nuzlah East sits between Old Makkah Road to the north and Madain Al Fahd Road to the east, near Al Kawthar Mosque which helps us pinpoint the location. The narrow streets and closely built blocks mean we map each quarter before arrival to navigate efficiently.
We provide these in Al Nuzlah East too, and more than one can share a single visit.
