The access to reach it safely
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.

Al Nahdah runs along Hira Street between King Abdulaziz Road and Prince Sultan Road in west Jeddah close to the sea, a mixed district with dense commercial activity and residential villas and apartment buildings. High humidity and salt-laden air persist all year, with shops at ground level and homes above them. Chandeliers here may hang in medical receptions or shop fronts or luxury residential flats, and salt settles fast on both metal and glass.
Salt settles on glass all year as a haze that plain water spreads rather than removes, and it works into balcony railings, outdoor fabric and metal window frames. Humidity keeps carpets and curtains slightly damp, so they hold odours and dust longer than in drier districts. For the method itself, see our guide to chandelier cleaning.
Salt does not just settle on glass but on every metal surface: frame, arms, wires and conduit. Rust may start early and only show when the fixture is dismantled. We use solvents designed for salt that remove it from metals without harming brass or gold plating.
Humidity penetrates everything and keeps carpets and curtains slightly damp, so they hold odours and dust longer than in dry places. A chandelier hanging above a seating area may collect humidity and dust together, and needs cleaning designed to remove both moisture and smell.
Al Nahdah is a mixed commercial district, so the chandelier may hang above a medical reception or shop front, and constant foot traffic and dust from the street and shops add layers of dust and grease. We need coordination with merchants and full protection of shops beneath the flats.
Al Nahdah is located along Hira Street between King Abdulaziz Road and Prince Sultan Road, residential in the inner blocks with villas and apartments, while main streets carry dense commercial activity, home to Hira Plaza and Al Nahdah Park and Umar ibn Al Khattab Mosque, close to the Corniche.
Chandeliers in Al Nahdah are mixed: simple local pieces in rental flats and luxury ones in owner-occupied villas and suites. We inspect each one carefully before taking it down, watch for salt corrosion and early rust and older wiring.
Electrics may be shared between shop and flat. We confirm the right breaker and power is fully isolated, and waiting for everything to cool is essential in a humid environment.
Photography before dismantling is clear: from several angles with good light so we see all details and the sequence of each piece.
Each piece is washed in a solvent designed for salt, crystal and glass are rinsed in clean water and dried immediately. Metals need solvents that do not affect the finish.
Frame, arms and all conduit are cleaned of salt, rust and dust, we watch for gaps where salt collects. We inspect for any weakness that might affect safety.
Reassembly follows the same sequence with precision, each piece in position. Testing before power is restored is thorough: every wire, every component, every connection. The light works and shines evenly before we ask for your approval.
The circuit is switched off before anything is touched, and warm bulbs are given time to cool.
We check how it is built, which crystals are loose, and how it comes apart before removing a thing.
The area under the fixture is covered before we start, so a dropped crystal lands soft and nothing marks the floor or table below.
Where the piece allows, crystals come off and are washed and dried individually.
With the crystals off or aside, the frame, arms, bulb holders and ceiling mount are wiped down, since that is where film and webs hide behind the glass.
Every crystal goes back to its place, the fixture is switched on and checked, and we walk the room with you.
Al Nahdah is known by Hira Street which carries the commercial pulse, and Hira Plaza and King Abdulaziz Road which connects it to the Corniche, so work is organised by location: whether the flat is on the main street or set back in the residential depth of the quarter.
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.
We send a team, not one person, so crystals come off, get washed and go back in one visit, without a lone worker hurrying a fragile piece to finish before dark.
Whether crystals come off or are cleaned in place depends on how the fixture is built.
Nothing is done until the fixture is back together, switched on, and you have seen it throw its light.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the fixture is reassembled, lit, and you have seen it for yourself.
West Jeddah faces the sea along the Corniche, and the flats and towers along it live with salt in the air all year. Salt settles on glass as a haze that plain water spreads rather than removes, and it works into balcony railings, outdoor fabric and the metal of window frames. Indoors, humidity keeps carpets and curtains slightly damp, so they hold odours and dust longer than in drier districts, and bathroom grout and shower glass show scale quickly. Wooden floors and doors swell a little in the wetter months.
We provide these in Al Nahdah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
