The access to reach it safely
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.

Al Hafnah is a small residential district in east Jeddah within the hills and valley zone, close to the Mareekh Mountains and Wadi Al Qaws, with relatively new residential streets and a simple neighbourhood character. Chandeliers here hang in modest flats and small villas with a few small commercial premises, and they face a specific challenge: coarse pale dust from the surrounding hills and moisture trapped by the terrain.
Dust here is coarse and pale, unlike the black dust of the coast or the dense city dust. It enters homes from the hills and settles in thick layers on windows and curtains. Chandeliers accumulate a light but visibly thick dust very quickly. For the method itself, see our guide to chandelier cleaning.
Dust in Al Hafnah comes from the surrounding hills and valleys, not from streets or traffic. Particles are larger, coarser and paler in colour. They penetrate windows and settle rapidly on the chandelier. Coarse dust can scratch crystal if we are careless during cleaning. Washing requires more water and extra care during handling.
The valleys and hills around the district trap moisture and dew, especially in early morning. Cool air flows down from the mountains overnight and the surrounding hills prevent warm air from rising. Dew deposits on the chandelier, windows and ceilings. This differs from sea humidity but creates similar problems.
Al Hafnah is a relatively small district without large apartment towers or dense commercial zones. Chandeliers hang in modest flats and simple villas. The neighbourhood is quiet and entry is relatively easy. Fixtures may be simpler and less valuable than in upmarket districts, but cleaning is equally important.
Al Hafnah sits in a hill and valley zone east of Jeddah, close to the Mareekh Mountains and Wadi Al Qaws. Hills and valleys surround the district on all sides. Streets are relatively new and ground is sandy and rocky.
Initial inspection focuses on the dust type and condition of the crystal and metalwork. Coarse dust may leave tiny scratches invisible until cleaning begins.
Power is cut and testing is done. Newer homes usually have safe wiring, but we verify every time.
Layout photography documents the condition, dust pattern and arrangement. A small flat may be cramped, so the initial photo is important for reassembly reference.
Washing is careful because coarse dust can scratch. We soak first, then clean gently. Final rinsing removes all dust particles.
The frame and arms are cleaned carefully of coarse dust. Electrical connection points are checked for fine dust inside.
Reassembly and testing are precise. Complete drying is essential before power restoration because damp air may return quickly in the valley.
The circuit is switched off before anything is touched, and warm bulbs are given time to cool.
We check how it is built, which crystals are loose, and how it comes apart before removing a thing.
The area under the fixture is covered before we start, so a dropped crystal lands soft and nothing marks the floor or table below.
Where the piece allows, crystals come off and are washed and dried individually.
With the crystals off or aside, the frame, arms, bulb holders and ceiling mount are wiped down, since that is where film and webs hide behind the glass.
Every crystal goes back to its place, the fixture is switched on and checked, and we walk the room with you.
A crystal fixture over a stairwell is not a job for a kitchen stool.
We send a team, not one person, so crystals come off, get washed and go back in one visit, without a lone worker hurrying a fragile piece to finish before dark.
Whether crystals come off or are cleaned in place depends on how the fixture is built.
Nothing is done until the fixture is back together, switched on, and you have seen it throw its light.
Photographs from real jobs carried out by the crew.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the fixture is reassembled, lit, and you have seen it for yourself.
Al Hafnah is positioned between the Mareekh Mountains and Wadi Al Qaws, distinguished by its hilly terrain and modern residential streets. We reach homes from the main residential streets, and entry to the modest flats and small villas is relatively straightforward because the district is small and well organised.
We provide these in Al Hafnah too, and more than one can share a single visit.
