We test before we clean
Testing the material on a hidden spot is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Mareekh is a small mixed district in east Jeddah at the foot of Mareekh Mountains near Wadi Al Qaws, with shops and homes in a simple residential character. Air is drier than the coast and dust is coarser and paler, entering under doors and settling on carpet. Soil stains need special treatment and fitted carpet over old foundations may collect moisture and hidden grit.
Fine desert dust penetrates carpet more deeply, and moisture from the nearby valley may affect old building foundations. For the method itself, see the full carpet and rug cleaning page.
Dry air carries small stones and fine dust that enter under doors and windows constantly. Grit under carpet scratches the pile. We vacuum at high pressure with many passes before washing to remove all hidden grit.
Fine desert dust settles into a soil layer that fades colour. Seasonal moisture from the valley can make mud stick. Dry vacuuming first, then warm washing lifts soil stains.
Fitted carpet over floors that may be damp from proximity to the valley traps moisture. Grit under the flooring may penetrate the carpet. We extract hard and measure moisture levels before leaving.

Carpet in Mareekh may be synthetic or wool. We identify the fibre type and test a corner with warm water before extraction to confirm it is safe.
Dry vacuuming in Mareekh must be forceful because grit sits under the pile. We vacuum several times before washing to remove all hidden particles.
Stains here are mud, grit marks or soil dust. We test first to identify the stain type and explain what can be lifted without damage to the pile.
Fibre needs moderate warmth and standard extraction. Desert dust lifts easily with warm water. We do not need high heat or strong chemicals.
Fitted carpet may sit on floors damp from the nearby valley. We extract at high pressure and measure moisture underneath. We may run air movers if levels are high.
Final drying in Mareekh is fast because air is dry. We may use air movers if the floor below has trapped moisture to speed complete drying and prevent mildew.
Wool, synthetic and silk-blends do not take the same heat or the same material.
Before any water.
An oil stain is not treated like a juice stain.
Hot water loosens what is bound in the pile and the extractor pulls it straight back out with the water, together, so nothing is left sitting in the base.
The borders and fringe are done by hand, where machines skip and where wear shows first, so the whole rug looks even.
The carpet is left slightly damp, not wet.

The company runs a large workforce, and we send a team rather than one worker.
The deep vacuum and extraction machines are ours and arrive with the team.
If a rug needs repair or re-fringing rather than cleaning, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think.
East Jeddah lies furthest from the sea and closest to the open ground and hills beyond the ring roads, so the air is drier and the dust is coarser and paler than on the coast. It comes in under doors and settles on every flat surface overnight, making sofas, mattresses and curtains the heaviest part of the routine. Floors are mostly ceramic tile in the apartment districts and marble in the villa areas, both scratched by grit that is mopped rather than swept. Roof tank water leaves a grey film of sediment in baths and basins.
We provide these in Mareekh too, and more than one can share a single visit.
