The right gear for drinking water
Pumps to clear sludge, scrubbing to remove biofilm, and disinfectant meant for potable storage.

Al Furqan is a new subdivision within Obhur Al Shamaliyah in north Jeddah, with villas on newly released land, vacant plots and ongoing construction spreading across the area. Tanks here are new in new houses, but a new house does not mean a clean tank. The site work and foundation digging leave construction dust that enters the tank in the first weeks after occupation, and a brand new tank needs immediate cleaning before it settles into routine use.
A new tank in a new villa in Al Furqan may hold construction dust and sand from the original excavation and foundation work, even weeks after the family has moved in. For the method itself, see our guide to water tank cleaning.
Al Furqan is a new district with open excavations, exposed foundations and wide vacant plots. Fine dust from sand and soil blows freely in the air and enters the new tank, which has never been properly tested. The new homes themselves release dust from internal finishing work, and all of it settles into the tank.
Each new villa or home in Al Furqan is surrounded by vacant plots filled with construction waste and offcuts. Wind carries all of this, and the tank on the roof of the new house becomes the first target for every dust storm and site disturbance.
Modern plastic tanks are fitted quickly in new homes and may never be fully filled and drained before handover. The first water entering the new tank may carry sand from new pipes themselves, and neither the tank nor the pipework has been tested under normal conditions.
Al Furqan is a new development plan within Obhur Al Shamaliyah in north Jeddah, with vacant land for sale, new villas and main roads connecting it to the Jeddah Madinah Road.
Tank inspection in the new Al Furqan home reveals fine grey construction dust settled on the tank walls, even if water usage has been light since occupation.
Draining water from a new tank in a new Al Furqan villa may come out slightly cloudy because sand from new pipes and the new tank interior mixes with the water.
Sediment vacuumed from the floor of a new tank removes a thin brown layer of fine construction dust that has entered from the air during the building and site work phase.
Manual scrubbing of walls and floor in the new tank strips away the thin dust film that clings to the inside of new plastic surfaces after weeks of exposure to site dust.
Disinfecting the interior surfaces of a new Al Furqan tank kills any bacteria that entered with construction dust or travelled in from new, untested pipes before cleaning.
Final rinse and lid check in Al Furqan confirms the tank is sealed tight against further entry of construction dust and sand from the vacant land and ongoing site work around the villa.
The supply into the tank is shut and the tank is drained completely.
The sludge on the floor is scooped and pumped out first.
The biofilm on the walls is physically scrubbed off.
With the walls and floor clean, a disinfectant made for drinking-water storage is applied and given time to act on every surface.
The disinfectant and any loosened residue are rinsed down and pumped out, so the first tank of water after us is not carrying it.
We check the cover seal and inlet before refilling, so dust and insects stay out, then start the refill while you watch it run clear.

We send a team, not one person, so a tank is drained, cleaned, disinfected and refilled in a single visit rather than left open for days.
We look at the lid seal and inlet, because a tank that got dirty fast usually has a way in.
Nothing is closed until the tank is refilling and you have seen the water run clean.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave until the tank is disinfected, refilling, and you have seen it for yourself.
New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes
New in Al Furqan means the tank is new and the house is new, but the surrounding environment is unstable from excavations and vacant plots, so construction dust enters the new tank faster than it would in a villa in a completed established neighbourhood.
We provide these in Al Furqan too, and more than one can share a single visit.
