Um Al Salam is a mixed district in south eastern Jeddah on the Old Makkah Road, with popular housing and low rise blocks, a health centre and mosques on quiet streets. The area is far from the sea and close to open ground and hills beyond, so the air is dry, the dust is coarser and paler, and it enters under doors and settles on every surface fast.
Sofas, mattresses and curtains are the heaviest part of the routine here; dry dust settles on them overnight and needs almost daily sweeping to stay under control. For the method itself, see our guide to cleaners by the hour.
Um Al Salam is far from the sea, so the air is dry and dust coarser and paler than on the coast. It creeps in under doors and windows and settles on every flat surface overnight. Sofas, mattresses and curtains become the heaviest part of keeping up.
Fine grit enters with the dust. Ceramic tile in the apartments and marble in the villas both scratch if not swept well first. Good sweeping before mopping protects the floor and saves you having scratched surfaces within weeks.
Tank water leaves a grey sediment deposit in bathroom baths and sinks. This is not household dust but from the water itself. Weekly cleaning of taps and basins stops sediment piling up and blocking small pipes.

In Um Al Salam we set priorities with you first: surfaces and windows, or floors, or curtains? Dry dust covers everything and we cannot focus equally on all in one visit.
Surfaces, shelves and windows need cleaning first because dry dust settles on them fast; we start high and indoors to avoid redoing areas as dust falls.
The kitchen may need focus on grit and dirt from outside; we emphasize sweeping before anything else to protect the surfaces and stovetop.
The bathroom may need special attention to taps and basins for grey sediment from roof tank water; we focus on removing these deposits to keep pipes and drains clear.
Ceramic and marble floors need firm sweeping before mopping to protect them from fine scratches made by grit that enters with dry dust.
Before the hours end, we walk you through: are surfaces clean? are floors free of scratches? are windows clear? If anything needs extra care, we agree the added time right then.
We walk the space with you and you tell us what matters.
We start with what you placed at the top.
Within each room we work from higher surfaces down to the floor, so dusting never falls onto a floor we have already done.
If something is taking longer than expected or a new priority appears, we tell you and adjust the order with you rather than deciding for you.
The rate is set before we start.
We go through the agreed list with you before leaving, and anything within it that was missed is put right before the team goes.
Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them
In a mixed district like Um Al Salam, your home may be a flat under a shop or a small villa with a courtyard.
We do not start the timer and improvise.
The company runs a large crew, so a defined job can be finished faster with more hands in the same window when your list calls for it.
The materials and equipment come with the team.
If your list is really a deep clean or a specialised job, we say so instead of burning an hourly block on work it is not suited to.

The commitment is straightforward: an agreed list before we start, and no change to the work or the rate without your word.
East Jeddah lies furthest from the sea and closest to the open ground and hills beyond the ring roads, so the air is drier and the dust is coarser and paler than on the coast. It comes in under doors and settles on every flat surface overnight, making sofas, mattresses and curtains the heaviest part of the routine. Floors are mostly ceramic tile in the apartment districts and marble in the villa areas, both scratched by grit that is mopped rather than swept. Roof tank water leaves a grey film of sediment in baths and basins.
We provide these in Um Al Salam too, and more than one can share a single visit.
