We test before we clean
Testing the material on a hidden spot is a step we treat as necessary, not optional.

Al Wafa is a small mixed district in east Jeddah near the University of Jeddah and the Asfan road, where shops and homes share narrow simple streets in close quarters. The air is dry and harsh, and dust enters under doors and settles deep in carpet overnight. Particles from the nearby stadium and busy roads, combined with the drier air that keeps them airborne longer, make carpet here heavy and gritty at the same time. The dust that settles is coarser and paler than coastal dust.
The dry air lifts coarse dust and sand easily from bare ground, which settles deep in carpet, and the dust here is coarser and paler in colour than dust closer to the coast. For the method itself, see the full carpet and rug cleaning page.
East Jeddah's dry air lifts both fine and coarse particles easily. This dust does not clump; it drifts freely and lodges deeper in the pile base than heavier, moist dust does in other neighbourhoods.
Mixed residential and light commercial streets mean continuous foot traffic from outside. Dirty feet bring coarse dust and fine gravel that grinds against fibres with every step.
The nearby university stadium and busy roads create continuous traffic and dust clouds from events and sports. People arriving from the stadium carry this dust into homes, and it sits heavy in carpet.

Carpet in Al Wafa carries coarse dust and stadium particles from daily traffic, so sorting identifies particle size and type to set vacuum pressure correctly.
Deep dry vacuuming must be very forceful to reach coarse particles and gravel lodged deep in the pile base, especially in hallways and entry areas.
Gravel and dry sand are removed before washing to prevent fibre damage. Chemical treatment is mild because dry soils do not require dissolving agents.
Washing method requires strong suction: coarse, heavy particles need deeper extraction than dust in other neighbourhoods with finer, lighter soils.
Fitted carpet in entry hallways is cleaned in place with aggressive vacuuming because the base of the pile collects coarse dust that daily vacuuming cannot reach.
Wet extraction and drying happen quickly in dry air, but ensuring all gravel and sand is removed before drying is critical to prevent scratching during final drying.
Wool, synthetic and silk-blends do not take the same heat or the same material.
Before any water.
An oil stain is not treated like a juice stain.
Hot water loosens what is bound in the pile and the extractor pulls it straight back out with the water, together, so nothing is left sitting in the base.
The borders and fringe are done by hand, where machines skip and where wear shows first, so the whole rug looks even.
The carpet is left slightly damp, not wet.
Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them
The mixed district in Al Wafa means shops below simple residential flats in dry east Jeddah.

The company runs a large workforce, and we send a team rather than one worker.
The deep vacuum and extraction machines are ours and arrive with the team.
If a rug needs repair or re-fringing rather than cleaning, we say so.

The commitment is simple enough to actually keep: we do not leave before you have seen the result and told us what you think.
East Jeddah lies furthest from the sea and closest to the open ground and hills beyond the ring roads, so the air is drier and the dust is coarser and paler than on the coast. It comes in under doors and settles on every flat surface overnight, making sofas, mattresses and curtains the heaviest part of the routine. Floors are mostly ceramic tile in the apartment districts and marble in the villa areas, both scratched by grit that is mopped rather than swept. Roof tank water leaves a grey film of sediment in baths and basins.
We provide these in Al Wafa too, and more than one can share a single visit.
